The Caterpillar Fabrication Facility is a large 2 story, new construction excavator plant located in Victoria, TX. This new production facility will be a state-of-the-art, 850,000 square foot operation facility, and plans for an additional $70 million investment in the Victoria area that will include another 200,000 square feet under roof. The added investment in Victoria will increase excavator capacity beyond the original plans and will include the addition of selected fabrication manufacturing for excavator production. International Design Services’ scope includes structural & misc. steel detailing of all columns, infill beams, crane rail beams, cooling tower platforms, bracing, framing for pour stops, floor & roof openings, bollards, stairs, handrails, roof ladders and guardrails. IDS, Inc. Scope of work includes 3D modeling in version Tekla 17 for BIM requirements by certified Tekla detailers, production of structural steel shop drawings, erection drawings, and connection design for the bracing connections and stair design from a licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas. Approximate tonnage calculated at 560 tons of structural and miscellaneous steel with a schedule of 6 weeks to approval. |
