Chrysler Sterling Heights Assembly Plant- New Paint Shop
Project Name:
Date: Mar-2011
Project Status: Completed
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Tonnage: 7000
Fabricator: Midwest Steel, Inc.

International Design Services provided structural steel detailing and structural connection design services on Chrysler's new state of the art facility in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

The 425,000 square foot facility includes 7,000 tons of structural steel and trusses.

IDS was recommended for the project by Midwest Steel, the project's erector, due to our history of successful projects together.  Working with five prominent structural steel fabricators over a period of 5 months, the calculations were prepared, the drawings completed and the building erected on schedule.

Our connection design scope included the design of shear, moment and truss connections.  The project was detailed using Autocad and an additional model was provide for BIM coordination.  The CNC, DXF, KSS and other data files were provided, as required, for multiple fabricators working on the project.
