The Promise Academy - Harlem is a new construction 5 story charter school being constructed on 125th Street in New York.  The structure consists of HSS seismic braced frame construction.  We are designing moment connections using bolted end plate connections. IDS scope of work includes structural steel detailing and connection design for the structural steel.

The project was awarded to IDS in December 2010 with an aggressive schedule to commence in early 2011.  The aggressive schedule requires prompt attention to connection design requirements and coordination with the fabricator and engineer of record.  With this in mind we were able to have job set up drawings within a few days for the fabricator to review and formal submittal to the EOR within a week of being awarded the job.  This process ensures smooth kick off of the project and early coordination with the EOR to very design intent to ultimately get shop drawings into fabrication in time to meet the aggressive erection schedule requirements.
